LEADERSHIP

Our synagogue is led by a dynamic leadership team made up of our clergy, board of directors, and lay leaders who all work together in the spiritual direction of our community.

rabbi josh sofaer

Josh Sofaer has devoted his ministry to building people and strengthening communities. He currently serves as Rabbi, bringing decades of experience in leadership development, discipleship, and ministry. Throughout his career, Josh has held a variety of roles, including camp director, internship coordinator, facilities manager, branch leader, and most recently as a leadership coach and trainer with the global staff of Jews for Jesus. Whether mentoring emerging leaders, strengthening teams, or shepherding a congregation, his desire is to see people mature in faith and use their gifts to serve others.

Raised in a Sephardic Jewish home in the San Francisco Bay Area, Josh's family heritage traces back to India and Iraq. In 1988, he embraced Yeshua as Israel's Messiah, a decision that has shaped both his life and his ministry ever since. Josh earned a B.A. in History from Brooklyn College and both an M.A. and Th.M. from Western Seminary.

Josh and his wife, Annette, have two adult daughters, Eliana and Taliah, and are grateful to have welcomed Patrick as their son-in-law through Eliana's marriage. They live in Tarzana, California, and consider it a joy to serve the congregation and the wider community. In his spare time, Josh enjoys golf, woodworking, and good conversations over coffee.
