Beth Emunah Messianic Synagogue

Celebrate Purim at BE! The book of Esther tells the story of a G-d that is very active, even while not being mentioned by name. At BE, we want to grow our ability to see G-d in unexpected places. Toward this we will be celebrating Purim by hosting ‘ShushanCon’ – that’s a conference about Shushan.  Save the date and plan to wear your best SciFi costume and join the fun.

The first activity of the evening is the “Jedi Training Camp.” The youth have designed challenges for 3 to 12-year-olds to “earn their stripes” and a chance to choose an award trinket from our prize basket.  About 45 minutes later, balloon animal making and face painting will begin.

Havdalah will be celebrated followed by the traditional reading of Megillah and a Purim spiel by our youth and children’s departments. We will enjoy Hamantaschen and beverages together, and that will include a People’s Choice Award for the best hamantaschen. **

People are encouraged to come in sci-fi costumes (but not scary ones).  There will be a parade of costumes with awards for youth and adults for some of them. Our Shirim Chorale will be singing.  Rabbi will wrap things up at around 9 PM.

**Beth Emunah’s Hamentashen Contest will feature out-of-this-world delicious goodies! Show us your culinary skills and perhaps your homemade hamantaschen will win an award!!! (Store-bought hamantaschen are fine but will not be eligible for awards.)
