ABOUT LEV SHELO
Lev Shelo, meaning “His heart” in Hebrew, is a Jewish contemporary band comprised of Jewish and Gentile members led by Corry Bell. In the last 20 years, religious music has “crossed over” from a very limited audience of like-mindedness to a broader one that includes people of various faiths and persuasions, in common seasons of life’s ups and downs. It is in that vein that Lev Shelo seeks to relate on all levels of the pursuit of joy and peace, success and harmony in our varying communities. Their music is uplifting, celebratory, reflective and meaningful, often addressing common issues of humanity.
With a cultural bent of traditional Jewish lore and melodies, Lev Shelo manages to capture the childhood memories of many growing up in Jewish homes. Their music is familiar and endearing. For many others, it is a first-time experience to hear their unique style and presentation. Guitar, vocals, violin, classical piano all work in concert much like a conversation between old friends. From driving tempos to worshipful ballads, there is something in their repertoire for everyone to enjoy.
